A thorough wellness exam annually or biannually is essential to ensure your large and small animals are as healthy as they can be.
DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
We offer patient side digital X-Rays to quickly and accurately diagnose orthopedic and soft tissue conditions.
VACCINATIONS
We offer the most up to date vaccine protocols that are suited to your animal's individual needs.
FIELD SURGERY
A variety of field surgeries are offered including castrations, C-Sections, and wound management.
ULTRASOUND
We are proficient in ultrasonographic diagnosis of pregnancy, soft tissue injuries, and abdominal abnormalities.
EMERGENCY CARE

REPRODUCTION

We provide reproductive consulting, syncing programs, artificial insemination (AI), pregnancy determination via palpation and ultrasound and more.

LIMITED EMERGENCY/SICK CALLS
Current clients only. We are able to treat a variety of problems in the field including; mild GI upset, eye and ear infections, and wound/laceration repair and management. More severe emergencies/illness are referred to another clinic for further care.

OUR PRACTICE

Prairie Mountain Veterinary Services, formerly known as Hamann-McDonald Veterinary Services, is a mobile veterinary practice owned by Dr. McDonald. He specializes in large animal medicine, lameness, surgery, and herd health management. He also provides limited Small Animal care including vaccinations, wellness exams, and sick calls. Dr. McDonald is available for EMERGENCIES for current clients.

Dr. McDonald is set to complete his PAP Certification in August of 2020 and Acupuncture and Chiropractic courses soon after. Under his ownership, the practice will branch into advanced areas of veterinary medicine not currently utilized.
​
Dr. McDonald enjoys advanced equine lameness and offers thorough lameness exams with advanced diagnostics such as stall side radiography and ultrasonography. Treatments with biologics including PRP and ProStride are available along with standard steroid/hyaluronic acid injections.
